Welcome!

I'm so happy you’ve landed on this page! I’m Helen, a self taught soap maker living in Melbourne, Australia. You may have had a quick peek of my website and products, however I thought I’d tell you a little more about myself. I’ve been working in the HR industry for over 10 years, and discovered soap making as a side hobby in early 2017.

How does one get into soap making you may ask? My journey started when I began searching for better soap for my husband and I. We found that the bars of soap we were using kept making our skin dry and flaky, which triggered my obsession on researching different types of soap. This led me to the discovery of goat milk soap. Then in a moment of madness, I decided that I would MAKE my own goat milk soap!

Through much research, trial and error, and seeking feedback from family and friends, I was finally able to produce my first batch of soap which I was truly happy with. This soap was to be named ‘The Original’. ‘The Original’ has a very special place in my heart, and the meaning behind the name is that I never want to forget the soap which started my passion for soap making. While some people choose to meditate or do yoga, I have found that the process of making soap to be peaceful and relaxing, and I enjoy every moment of it!

A huge benefit of handmade soap is that it retains all of its glycerin. Glycerin is an ingredient produced naturally during the soap making process called saponification. This ingredient is generally removed from commercial soaps and reserved for body care products such as moisturisers and conditioners.

All my soaps are 100% handmade using the cold process method, the purest and most natural form of soap making. This is a meticulous and time consuming process, which means I can only produce a limited number of bars each time. The bars also needs to be cured for 4 - 6 weeks before it is ready to be used. In a world full of artificial ingredients, I wanted to create something natural for the skin. My soaps are therefore made using only natural ingredients such as olive oil, coconut oil, goat milk, and sustainable palm oil.

Through much encouragement from family and friends, I have finally decided to share my soaps with you all. I hope that you will enjoy using it as much as we do, because life shouldn’t be dry!
